Assistance In Marketing is a nationwide, single source network of data collection facilities offering a variety of research services to meet your needs.

Founded in 1970 by Irwin and Barbara Weinberg, the network has grown to include 10 facilities coast to coast, owned by their daughter and son, a niece and a friend of the family. We’re a close-knit family dedicated to the best in marketing research.

Every AIM facility is managed by its owner, who gets involved with every project. It’s a more personal way of doing business, the only way at AIM. Our owners have a combined 100 years of research experience. As you navigate through our web site you will see each of our offices and learn about our services. Meet the Owners:

Barbara Weinberg-AIM-Cincinnati
Barbara is a pioneer within the marketing research industry.  In Cincinnati, she established one of the original focus group rooms in the basement of a single family home.  She was one of the first firms nationwide to establish an interviewing location within a shopping mall in the early 70’s.  She was one of the first firms nationwide to open a dedicated facility for focus group discussions in Cincinnati, OH.  Barbara was one of the original moderators in the industry, and the first female moderator with General Motors.  She designed and opened a 17,000 sq. ft research facility in 1986 featuring large rooms for both quantitative and qualitative testing.

Donna Weinberg- AIM-New York/ New Jersey
Donna began her marketing research career in 1981 as manager of one of the very first dedicated focus group facilities in the country (located in Hartsdale New York).  In 1983, she opened a new facility in Englewood New Jersey (formally The Focus Room) and 4 years later expanded and relocated to a more desirable location in Hackensack New Jersey where she changed the company name to Assistance In Marketing.    In 1986, Donna opened a second location of AIM-NJ  in Florham Park.  Ten years later, the facility relocated to a more spacious state of the art space in Morristown New Jersey.  Both Hackensack and Morristown  locations continually undergo upgrades and refurbishing on a regular  basis keeping AIM-NJ on the cutting edge of technology and comfort.

David Weinberg- AIM California
David began his career in marketing research in 1981 when he founded AIM/Baltimore, formerly known as Opinion Centers of Maryland.   He relocated to Cincinnati, OH in 1986 to coordinate expansion into northern and central OH.  In 1990, David relocated to Southern Cal where he founded AIM/Los Angeles.   Long Beach was opened in 1992, Costa Mesa in 1996 and West Los Angeles opened it’s doors in 2002. 

Laura Shulman- AIM-Chicago
Laura has an extensive background in Marketing and Market Research.  Upon graduating from Skidmore College with a BS in Economics, she received her MBA with concentrations in marketing and operations, from Vanderbilt University's Owen Graduate School of Management where she currently serves on both the Alumni and Curriculum boards.  After completion of her studies, Laura gained Marketing experience with Masterfoods, Pinkerton Tobacco and Rent-A-Center.  In 1993, Laura brought her client side experience to the Assistance in Marketing family.  Becoming the Owner/President of the Chicago, Arlington Heights, facility in 1997.  In the Fall of 2001 the office moved to its new technologically savy location in Schaumburg.
